Christmas 2007

This year we have decided to not send out christmas cards and presents, but to donate to a local child protection fund helping abused and disstressed children. We are sure this was the right thing to do.

C.E.G. Hamburg has purchased their first vessel from ArpThordsen.

Today we welcome our new colleague Mrs Johanna Puetz, who joined our team to take care of our operational matters in the chartering and management department.

UPDATE ON LOW SULPHUR FUEL OILS IN SECA ZONES ==================================================

Since May 19th 2006, and in application of an IMO-Maritime Environment Protection Committee regulation, Baltic Sea is a "Sulphur Emission Control Area" - SECA and all vessels sailing in this zone cannot use fuel with sulphur content higher than 1.5 pct.

Since August 11th 2006, Directive 2005/33/EC of the European Community also considers Baltic Sea a SECA Zone and prohibiting vessels sailing in the territorial waters of its Members in this zone to use fuels having a sulphur content above 1.5 pct.

Simultaneously, this Directive of European Community stipulates that all passenger vessels cannot use fuel with sulphur content higher than 1.5 pct while in European Community waters.

From August 11th 2007, and in application of above directive from EUROPEAN COMMUNITY, North Sea (including English Channel) will become Sulphur Emission Control Area - SECA, where vessels sailing in the territorial waters of its Members in this zone cannot use fuels having a sulphur content above 1.5 pct.

From November 21st 2007, and in application of an IMOMaritime Environment Protection Committee regulation, North Sea (including English Channel) will also become Sulphur Emission Control Area - SECA, where vessels cannot use fuels having a sulphur content above 1.5 pct.

Moreover and from January 1st 2008, sulphur content of Marine Gasoil used by vessels within the European Community waters must not exceed 0.1 pct.

Naturally, these regulations are given to the best of our knowledge and for information only.

We suggest that each Shipowner, Charterer or Operator contact his concerned entity to get the official and detailed documentation covering above matters.

Lüddeke ReedereiAgentur take over MV "CEG COSMOS"

On june 12th 2007 Lüddeke ReedereiAgentur GmbH has taken over the correspondent ownership of MV "CEG COSMOS" a new purchase of Messrs CEG, Hamburg. The vessel will be employed to trade in the Continent/Baltic/Mediterranean range primarily for the transport of general cargoes. A CAR RACING-COURSE is moved by sea.

Lüddeke ReedereiAgentur GmbH have recently been entrusted the shipment of a CAR RACING COURSE from Bilbao, Spain to the Port of Constanza, Romania. The transport included several shipments on vessels upto 8.500 dwcc and was completed sucessfully to the full satisfaction of all parties and arrived timeously to host the Bucarest FIA GT Championship.
